Ambitious

Every day, I have my usual routine. Wake up early, check my social media statistics, then start the day. I received a compliment from a fellow musician telling me I was ‘ambitious’. I guess I never looked at myself as ambitious. Driven, focused, motivated maybe but not ambitious. Of course, I went to the internet to look up the exact definition :

ambitious :

  1. Having or showing a strong desire and determination to succeed.
  2. (of a plan or piece of work) Intended to satisfy high aspirations and therefore difficult to achieve.

After reading the definition, I would say it’s a good description. I have a lot to achieve and I’m in the early stages. You have to want to do the little things to create your success. Everything I do is geared towards creating my success. My job, work schedule, daily/weekly routine, personal life. There are classes, books you can buy to help with your success but you still have to do the leg work. I’ve had instances where I’ve said to myself or friends ‘I’m sorry, I can’t do __________’. If my goal is music, then this has to be my first concern. Trust me, I have enough on my plate to keep me busy. I’m still learning self-discipline and sometimes I fail. This does not come to me as easily as it is for other people. I’m working towards goals. I have timelines set up where I need to have my goals achieved. Having ambition is good. You only move forward with your own ambition.
