The Fear

Are you afraid to do something new? To go outside your comfort zone. Trust me, I’m with you. Had it most of my life. Look at me, standing in front of strangers and singing songs about love, death and everything in-between. It’s not easy. It’s actually easier singing in front of strangers than it is friends. For some of us, our biggest obstacle is inside of us. Fear. Fear of rejection, looking bad, feeling stupid. You have to work to get rid of the fear inside of you. Sometimes the first and biggest obstacle is you. It’s not easy to shake. I’m sure you’ve heard different ways people have dealt with fear. Robbie Robertson of The Band had stage fright. He had to be hypnotized before he would hit the stage. The best advice I’ve read so far is this : Just.Do.It.. No, not the sneaker motto. Don’t think about it. Just go out and do it. Everything starts with yourself. Believe in yourself. Arm yourself with knowledge. Friends, family, complete strangers will believe in you. Do you have friends, family that do not believe in you? Don’t have them in your life. You have to surround yourself in people that believe in you. You will need positivity in order to achieve any goal. It’s a learning process. Work on what is best for you. I’m in the process. You can do it too.
